Today's News: Our Take - Box Office: Oz Continues to Dominate

Oz the Great and Powerful continued to dominate at the box office this weekend, hauling in an additional $42.2 million to finish at No. 1 for the second week in a row, Box Office Mojo reports.

Though it marked a drop of about 47 percent from the film's debut weekend, the gross was more than double Oz's nearest competitor, The Call , which landed in second place on its opening weekend with earnings of $17.1 million. The thriller starring Halle Berry was followed by the weekend's other new movie, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone , which flopped with earnings of $10.3 million - marking one of the lowest debuting films ever for stars Steve Carell and Jim Carrey.
