Today's News: Our Take - Ratings: American Idol Falls to All-Time Low

American Idol fell to an all-time low Thursday.

The one-hour results show drew 11 million viewers and a 2.7 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic to post the series' lowest demo ever in 12 seasons.

Lead-out Raising Hope averaged 4 million viewers and a 1.3 for its double-episode season finale, down from its last new episode a month ago.

ABC tied CBS' March Madness coverage (6.9 million, 2.3) for the win, led by Grey's Anatomy (8.3 million, 2.8) and Scandal (8.1 million, 2.6), both of which slipped a bit.

NBC's two episodes of 1600 Penn (1.9 million, 0.7) hit a series low.

8 p.m. CBS: NCAA Basketball Tournament 6.9 million viewers (2.3 demo rating) [8-11 p.m.]

ABC: Wife Swap 4.3 million (1.4)

Fox: American Idol 11 million (2.7)

NBC: Community (R) 2.3 million (0.7); 1600 Penn 1.9 million (0.7)

CW: The Vampire Diaries 2.4 million (1.2)

9 p.m.

ABC: Grey's Anatomy 8.3 million (2.8)

Fox: Raising Hope 4.6 million (1.4); Raising Hope 3.5 million (1.2)

NBC: The Office (R) 1.7 million (0.7); 1600 Penn 1.9 million (0.7)

CW: Beauty and the Beast 1.6 million (0.6)

10 p.m.

ABC: Scandal 8.1 million (2.6)

NBC: Law & Order: SVU (R) 4 million (1.0)
