Today's News: Our Take - Malibu Country Loses Showrunner

If Malibu Country returns for a second season, it will have to be without showrunner Nastaran Dibai.

As first reported by Entertainment Weekly , Dibai is leaving the series, TVGuide.com confirms. The comedy, starring Reba McEntire and Lily Tomlin, finished its first season in March, and hasn't been picked up yet.

Dibai stepped in as showrunner in October, following the departure of series creator Kevin Abbott. Dibai has also served as a producer on According to Jim , Happily Divorced , and Retired at 35 .

This is the second showrunner loss in two days for ABC. Revenge 's creator Mike Kelley stepped down on Monday after two seasons.
