OBITUARY: Donald Wilhelm

Donald Wilhelm, age 79 of Hobart, Ind., passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, in Chesterton , Ind.

Donald was born Jan 15, 1935, in Eldorado to Mabel and Merce Wilhelm.

Donald Was retired from US STEEL Gary works Local 1014 and was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a medic.

Don loved nature, and the simple things in life; one of his favorite things to do was going for a walk. His crazy sense of humor will be sadly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merce and Mabel Wilhelm; a sister, Betty; an infant daughter; his son, David Wilhelm; and his brothers, Billy Ray and Bobby Joe Wilhelm.

He is survived by his loving son, Philip Wilhelm of Hobart, Ind.; grandson, Kevin Wilhelm of Valparaiso, Ind.; granddaughter, Cynthia Wilhelm of Valparaiso, Ind.; one great-grandson, Zayden Wilhelm; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cottage Grove Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
