Today's News: Our Take - Andy Murray Nets Historic Win at Wimbledon

Andy Murray defeated No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic in straight sets (6-4, 7-5, 6-4) to win the men's final at Wimbledon Sunday. Murray, who was seeded No. 2, is the first British player to take the title at the All England Club in 77 years.

The match, which lasted more than three hours, was also one of the hottest men's finals in the history of Wimbledon, with the temperature on the court's surface more than 100 degrees, according to ESPN commentators.

Murray, 26, also reached the Wimbledon final last year, but was defeated by Roger Federer. This is his second Grand Slam victory, after winning last year's U.S. Open over Djokovic.

"It feels slightly different to last year," Murray quipped after the victory. "Last year was one of the toughest moments of my career, so to manage the win the tournament today ... it was unbelievable."

Djokovic, who defeated Argentinian Juan Martin del Potro in an epic five-set semifinal Friday, was never able to get a rhythm going in the match, but overcame three championship points in the third set before eventually losing to Murray.
