The Trya Buss and Mt. Carmel show rolled into Eldorado Tuesday night, set up shop and wasted little time getting to work.
First order of business was eliminating Eldorado to the tune of 71-35, while the Lady Aces put nine players in the scoring column.
Buss, the likely recipient of the All-South Player of the Year, put in a game-high 33 points.
The 5-foot-6 sophomore guard was 9-of-22 from the field and 14-of-17 from the free throw line, helping Mt. Carmel advance to the Class 2A Regional Thursday against the winner of Fairfield or Hamilton County.
It was all Mt. Carmel from the get-go as they opened up with a 24-4 first quarter lead and never looked back.
Eldorado struggled from the field in the first half, going 4-of-25 and committing 14 turnovers.
The Eagles finished the game with 15 turnovers and were 11-of-41 from the field and 3-of-10 from behind the arc, while going 8-of-15 from the free throw line.
Ashton Unthank led Eldorado in scoring with 15 points and Kourtney Phillips tossed in 11 to also finish in double figures.
Paige Zertuche finished with five points, while Elsie Talkington tacked on two points. Both Erica Graczyk and Riley Duckworth each had a free throw.
Mt. Carmel outscored Eldorado 18-8 in the second quarter to take a 42-12 halftime lead and then outscored EHS 21-11 in the third quarter as they built a 63-23 lead going into the game's final eight minutes of action.
