Date set for trial of Raymond Moss
Another motion hearing was heard in Harrisburg involving Raymond Moss today. Chief Judge Mark Clarke heard motions from both the defense and the State in two separate cases.
The first case charges Moss with two counts of criminal sexual assault, two counts of domestic battery and two counts of unlawful restraint stemming from an incident that occurred Sept. 28, 2010.
In that case, Moss' defense attorney, Fred Turner, filed a motion to disqualify Assistant State's Attorney Eva Walker as the prosecutor for the case. Turner said that because Walker interviewed the accuser, the defense may want to call Walker as a witness in the case. The motion was denied.
Turner also filed a motion for additional disclosure asking the State to disclose the names of members of the grand jury who indicted Moss. This motion was also denied.
The pretrial for this case was set today for Dec. 16 at 1 p.m., and the jury trial was set for 9 a.m. Dec. 19.
The second case charges Moss with one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault and two counts of criminal sexual assault. A motion hearing for this case will be heard 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9.
