Harker 'Brub' Peeples Miley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Harker "Brub" Peeples Miley, 85, Eldorado, died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at the V.A. Hospital, Marion.

As per his wishes, his body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the charge of Watson Funeral Home, Eldorado.

He was born in Harrisburg on Dec. 11, 1923, to Robert G. and Margaret Lucy (Peeples) Miley. He married Margaret Ann Miley, who preceded him in death on Dec. 18, 1993.

He was a World War II veteran of the 8th Army Air Force. He served as technical sergeant top turret gunner, flying 17 missions over enemy territory. He was retired from Egyptian Public and Mental Health Department as a food inspector. He was Presbyterian.

He is survived by a son, Daniel (Donna) Miley of Richwoods, Mo.; a brother, Maj. Ret. Robert Miley of Panama City, Fla.; three grandchildren, Frances Miley, Matthew Miley and Melissa (Rick) Freeman.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen G. Miley, on Oct. 29, 1957.

The family wishes to express their extreme gratitude to the Veterans Administration Hospital at Marion for their excellent care and attention of "Brub."
