Ministerial Alliance puts school supplies into the hands of families

Liberty Church at 608 West Main St. west of Du Quoin will again serve as the host site for the Du Quoin Ministerial Alliance's "Backpack Blessing" school supplies giveaway and its popular "No Sale Yard Sale."

The event will be held Saturday, Aug. 2 from 8 a.m. until noon, but don't be late. Liberty Church Pastor Lon McPherson wants to tell families that all items--the school supplies and high quality yard sale items--are all FREE!

There will be back packs filled with school supplies, clothes for he whole family, household items, furniture, books, knickknacks, toys and more.

The Back to School Backpack Blessing is sponsored by the Du Quoin Ministerial Alliance & the people of Du Quoin.

"We gave away 200 backpacks last year and we weren't able to take care of everyone that came. This year we have 300 back packs to give away, thanks to the generosity of our community," said Rev. McPherson
