County board discusses Ferrell tax payback

The Saline County Board convened a special meeting 6 p.m. Feb. 17 in the county courthouse to discuss in executive session the plan for reimbursing Ferrell Hospital tax money.

The hospital says reimbursement is in order since it overpaid during the period after having been made a non-profit corporation.

Board Chairman Carey Harbison said after the meeting, "We were just trying to come up with an equitable plan for reimbursement of the taxes that the hospital overpaid. We want an equitable plan that will not hurt any of the taxing bodies."
