Alberta 'Bert' Davis Tanner
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Alberta "Bert" Davis Tanner, age 87, of Ridgway, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, Dec. 18, 2008, at the Ridgway Manor Nursing Home in Ridgway.
Bert, as most knew her, was born in Ridgway on Sept. 19, 1921 to the late Alex and Elmira (Partain) Dennison. She worked for many different people through the years cleaning homes and businesses. She was a homemaker and mother first, though.
She had been a member of the Scott Street Baptist Church in Eldorado for many years, where she was very active.
Bert is survived by four grandsons, Willard Davis Jr. of Newnan, Ga., Tom Davis of Newnan, Ga., Carl Davis of Colorado and Tim Davis of Kansas; two granddaughters, Jena Davis of Norris City and Christine Ames of Kansas; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sons, Willard Davis Sr., Leo Davis and Charles Davis.
Visitation for Bert will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Funeral Services for Bert will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec, 21, 2008 at the funeral home with the Rev. Bud Sork officiating. Interment will be in the Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway.
