Fred E. Rottmann
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Fred E. Rottmann, 90, retired funeral director of Golconda, passed away 9:37 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Superior Care Home in Paducah, Ky.
He was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Central City, Ky., the son of Frederick E. and Mary Elenore Clark Rottmann. He was married to Eudora Britton Rottmann and she preceded him in death July 22, 2006.
He was a third-generation funeral director and owner of Rottmann Funeral Service in Golconda for over 50 years, retiring in 1985.
Fred was an avid hunter and fisherman and a respected businessman in his community. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elizabethtown.
He was the beloved uncle of Linda Hatcher, Paducah, Ky., Mary Anne Stenger, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Steve Britton of Mayfield, Ky. He is also survived by a sister, Ann Bray, Miamisburg, Ohio; a nephew, John Patrick Bray, Miamisburg, Ohio; and nieces, Kathy Bohacheck of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Jan Shadowski of New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, brother Bill Rottmann and sister Mary Rottmann.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elizabethtown with Father Ignatius Okonkwo officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Golconda. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home of Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements.
