Darlene Shewmake Utley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Darlene Shewmake Utley, 57, of Sturgis, Ky., died 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Regional Medical Center, Madisonville, Ky.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Gaskins-Jones Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at the funeral home.

She was born May 31, 1951, in Harrisburg to James and Katie (Carpenter) Shewmake. On Feb. 14, 1986, she married Tom Utley, who preceded her in death on May 8, 2008.

She worked in accounts-payable for Ervin Cable Construction Company.

She is survived by a daughter, Sara (Michael) Hamilton of Marion, Ky.; two sisters, Tina (Bruce) Ippel of Evergreen, Colo. and Sandra Blythe of Marion; four nephews, Jason (MaryAnn) Serles of Herrin, Aaron Shewmake of Marion, Shawn Gooch of Marion and Caleb Gooch of Marion; and a great-niece, Audrey Isabella "Izzy" Serles of Herrin.

Darlene will be deeply missed by family and friends.
