Molly Ann Scates

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Molly Ann Scates, 18, of Duncan Lane, Shawneetown, passed away at her residence at 9:36 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009.

She was a student at Gallatin County School and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Molly was born in Evansville, Ind., on Dec. 8, 1990, to Charles Anthony "Tony" and Marzel (Mitchell) Scates.

She is survived by her parents, Tony and Marzel Scates of Shawneetown; two brothers, Ben Scates of Harrisburg and Will Scates of Shawneetown; grandfather, Harold and Louise Mitchell of Paducah, Ky.; and by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, William and Juanita Scates and Bonnie Mitchell.

Visitation for Molly will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown with prayer service at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shawneetown with Father Mark Stec officiating. Burial will follow the service at Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Shawneetown.
