Loren Sherfield

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Loren Sherfield, 80, a resident of Carrier Mills Nursing Home, died 7:09 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Services will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Dick Driskell officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time Thursday.

He was born in Saline County to the late Clardie and Bertha (Dunn) Sherfield.

He was a veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by two sons, Bobby Sherfield of Stonefort and Danny Sherfield of Carrier Mills; a daughter, Debbie Sherfield of Harrisburg; three sisters, Lorene Williams and Mary Wright, both of Rock Falls and Ruth Sherrell of West Frankfort; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ed, Carl, Elbert and Orval Sherfield; a sister, Myrtle Mae Sherfield; and a grandchild.
