Lowell J Wilson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Lowell J Wilson, 82, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009.

Lowell was born in Harrisburg on Jan. 2, 1927. He eloped with Margie Naomi Williams in 1946 and loved her all the rest of his life.

Lowell served in the U.S. Navy in World War II on the island of Oahu. He enjoyed the Hawaiian Islands and Margie and Lowell returned there many times for great vacations.

Lowell worked with his family in a cabinet shop as a young man in Harrisburg and started Copper State Cabinets in Phoenix soon after his arrival there in 1956. He was a true master craftsman, and his work over the next four decades filled some of the finest homes in the valley and around the state.

Lowell's defining character was his generosity of spirit and genuine care for other people. He had a wide circle of friends and enjoyed entertaining. He served as past master and perpetual member of the Paradise Valley Silver Trowel Lodge No. 29 of the Free and Accepted Masons and worked tirelessly for the charitable causes of the organization. Lowell and Margie were gracious hosts to everyone and gathered around their kitchen table with everyone that stopped by. They often cared for elderly neighbors with meals and visits, a tradition that Lowell continued until a few years ago.

Lowell was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 48 years, Margie, who passed on Jan. 25, 1995.

Great-niece Kathy and her husband Dan Walker and their children; Mica (Walker) Badini, Tara, Ryan and Dylan of Phoenix have shared in the life of Lowell over the last 27 years. Lowell is also survived by his brother, Donald Wilson of Shawneetown. He has many loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews in California, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Ohio and New Jersey, who miss him but are overjoyed that he is reunited with Margie again.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at A.L. Moore Grimshaw, 710 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, Ariz., 85013, (602) 249 - 2111. Lowell will be placed at rest with Margie at graveside services at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, Ariz., 85301.
