Jason Darell Elam

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jason Darell Elam, 33, of Carmi, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at his home.

He was born Jan. 26, 1976, in Evansville, Ind., the son of Darell and Beth Elam.

Jason was a graphic designer and artist holding a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Southern Indiana, where he graduated with honors. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Carmi.

Survivors include his parents, Elizabeth Elam of Norris City and Darell Elam of Harrisburg; a brother, Chad Elam of Norris City; and grandmother, Iola Kuhnert.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lowell and Rena Elam.

Visitation and funeral service is Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Visitation is at 11 a.m. and continues until funeral time at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery near Harrisburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jason's family or the Presbyterian Church.
