Alberta Milligan

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Alberta Milligan, 74, passed away at 2:44 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.

She was born on Jan. 1, 1935, in Junction to Joseph and Edith (Tyree) Casteel.

She married Kenneth Milligan in Harrisburg on April 4, 1953, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1993.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, they were always first in her life, and she was a dedicated caregiver. She worked at Owen Illinois Glass Company in Alton.

She is survived by one daughter, Darla Smith of Alton; two grandchildren, Darrin and his spouse Lori Wright of Columbia, Tenn., and Brittany Smith of Alton; three sisters, Helen Josephine Smith of McLeansboro, Nellie Casteel of Harrisburg and Mollie Henderson of Harrisburg; six brothers, Hubert Casteel of McLeansboro, Jack Casteel of Harrisburg, Harold Casteel of Harrisburg, Darrell Casteel of Midland, Texas, Allen Casteel of Midland, Texas, and Alvin Casteel of Leamington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; two brothers, Joseph Casteel and Jessie Casteel; and one sister, Melinda Clevenger.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.

The Rev. Carl Cook will officiate at a graveside service at Good Hope Cemetery in Herod at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009.
