Ethel J. Lewis

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ethel J. Lewis, 88, died suddenly Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Inverness, Fla.

She was born June 22, 1920, in Southern Illinois.

She made her home in Michigan for many years before moving to Florida in 1987. Before retirement, she worked in retail. She enjoyed her family and friends. She lived the last three years at the Inverness Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip; and her son, Gerald.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Allaire and husband Paul of Crystal River, Fla.; and Gerald's widow, Kay Lewis of Waterford, Mich.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Smith of Spring Hill, Fla. and Ruth Willoughby of Demopolis, Ala.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial will be in Galatia, where she grew up, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Sloan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 3545 N.
