Edward 'Bud' Dean Owens
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Edward "Bud" Dean Owens, 83, of Eddyville, passed away June 11, 2009, at Pope County Care Center in Golconda.
He was born on March 27, 1926, in Shelbyville to Frank and Blanche (Russell) Owens. He married Betty Palmer on Dec. 25, 1948.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Eddyville; one son, Russell Owens of Eddyville; four daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Miller of Simpson, Karen Owens of Eddyville, Marilyn (John) Wallace of Junction and Becky (Wilburn) Stafford of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Michele (Donnie) Wiltermood, Theresa Owens, Amity (Krist) Thodoropoulos, Jessi (Mike) Hall, Heather (Todd) Goodson, Kalika Miller and Zeb Miller; and great-grandchildren, Josh Wiltermood, Tiffany Wiltermood, Tyler Wiltermood and Ali Goodson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Hilda Ellison and Melva Sparks; and one grandson, Caleb Miller.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a heavy equipment operator and was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 318 for 50 years.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. Burial and military rites will be at the Eddyville Cemetery, Eddyville. The service will be conducted by Brother Kevin Richerson. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Aly Funeral Home.
