Jack D. Bennett

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jack D. Bennett, 75, 2 N. Skaggs St., died 2:25 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at his residence.

A family burial will be held at Webber Campground Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are in the charge of Gaskins-Jones Funeral Home, Harrisburg.

He was born July 28, 1934, in Harrisburg to the late Guy Kenneth and Essie (Clark) Bennett.

He was Baptist by faith and served in the Navy in Korea and Vietnam. He retired after 22 years in the Navy.

He is survived by a brother, Charles L. (Connie) Bennett of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Delores Bennett of Harrisburg; a niece, Beth Satterfield of Harrisburg; a great-niece, Jordan Satterfield of Harrisburg; two nieces, Deborah Bartok of Harrisburg and Mary (Roger) Holm of Bunnell, Fla.; and a great-nephew, Bryant Bartok of Harrisburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Conrad Bennett.
