Lennie Irene Wiley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lennie Irene Wiley, 90, of Gallatin, Tenn., by the way of Mesa, Ariz., Evansville, Ind., and Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, Aug. 21, 2009.

Funeral service were at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Wilson officiating. Visitation was 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, and 2 p.m. until time of service Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, Ariz.

Miss Lennie, as she was known in Tennessee, started her life on Sept. 16, 1918, in Harrisburg, graduating from Harrisburg High School and Lockyears Business College in Evansville, Ind. Her marriage to Orley took her to Tucson, Ariz., where she worked in the offices of various defense contractors. Later Lennie worked at a Trading Post and with the Department of Indian Affairs on the Papago Indian Reservation in Sells, Ariz. Lennie and family moved back east after World War II, where Lennie worked as a homemaker residing in various cities, retiring back in Arizona. Upon the death of her husband in 2001, Lennie moved to Gallatin, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orley W. Wiley; parents, Ray and Lena Sewell Goben, of Harrisburg; brothers, Bill and Charles Goben of Harrisburg and daughter-in-law Nancy L. Wiley of Gallatin, Tenn. She is survived by son, Charles W. Wiley and wife Cathy of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Gallatin, Tenn.; granddaughter, Katie A. Wiley of Nashville, Tenn., and stepgrandchildren, Jan Spears of Manchester, Tenn., and Felicia Shirley of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and great-stepgrandchildren, Nick and Thomas Shirley of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Morgen Spears of Manchester, Tenn.
