Clara E. Yates

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Clara E. Yates, 87, 1912 Marshall St., Eldorado, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center, Carmi.

Graveside services will be held at noon Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are in the charge of Watson Funeral Home, Eldorado.

She was born March 15, 1922, in Eldorado to Joseph and Mary Ann Podrasky. On Jan. 8, 1949, she married Thurman Yates, who preceded her in death in February 2001.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

She is survived by a son, Larry (Julie) Yates of Ballwin, Mo.; a daughter, Sue Yates of Eldorado; two sisters, Joann Vaughn of Chicago and Marge Jahnke of Michigan; three grandchildren, Philip, Elizabeth and Ben, all of St. Louis, Mo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.

Memorials may be made to VNA Hospice or Wabash Christian Retirement Center's Alzheimer's Wing.
