Bobby Boone
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Bobby Boone, 65, of Harrisburg passed away at 3:43 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
He was born Aug. 30, 1944, in Harrisburg to Charles and Naomi (Parish) Boone. On March 17, 1974, he married the former Peggy Sullivan, and she survives.
Bobby was a coal miner with Peabody Coal and Old Ben Coal Co. for 25 years and later owned and operated his own barber shop. He was a member and deacon of Harrisburg First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Shawnee Hills Saddle Club and loved to camp and ride his horse. He loved his family above all, but was also a caring, giving friend. He was proud of his little barber shop with the antiques and junk and the family atmosphere. His smile will be missed.
In addition to his parents, Charles and Naomi Boone; and wife, Peggy Boone, all of Harrisburg, he is survived by sons, Scott and wife Joyce Boone of Henderson, Ky., Todd and wife Stephanie Boone of Harrisburg and Casey Boone of Harrisburg; sister, Charlene and husband Wayne Hale of Harrisburg; mother-in-law, June Sullivan of Thompsonville; and three grandchildren, Stephani and husband Chris Ranes, Brandon Boone and Karli Hill.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Vernon Sullivan.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Winkleman officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. For those who wish, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Elijah Fund.
