John D. Drew

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[John D. Drew, 61, of Benton, died Wednesday night, Nov. 25, 2009, at his home.

He was born in Ewing on May 17, 1948.

His parents were Howard and Betty Scrutchfield Drew and they preceded him in death.

John was an attorney for 30 years, having started in 1979. He was a member of the Franklin County Bar Association and the Illinois Bar Association.

John was president of Benton Little League and a member of the Franklin County Country Club.

John is survived by his wife, Cookie Drew of Benton; two sons, Bryan Drew and wife Melissa of Benton and Jason Drew of Benton; two granddaughters, Olivia and Victoria Drew of Benton; an uncle, Paul Drew; and an aunt, Mary McDowell.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Cremeens officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at the church. Burial will be at Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery.

Memorials are requested to the John D. Drew Memorial Scholarship Fund at Rend Lake College.
