Anna L. Farthing Allen

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Anna L. Farthing Allen, 97, 1301 E. DeYoung St., Marion, died 7:45 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at her residence.

She was born June 24, 1912, to Thomas and Ella Meadows McGuire. She married Otis Farthing Sr.,; he preceded her in death in 1967. She later married Arthur Allen; he preceded her in death in 1978.

She was a member of the Church of God by faith.

She is survived by three sons, Otis (Sharon) Farthing of Carrier Mills, Paul (Marilyn) Farthing of Johnston City and Albert (Linda) Crook of Rockford; a sister, Thelma Payne of Milan; six grandchildren, Roger Crook, Linda Ellis, David Farthing, Julie Farthing, Tom Farthing and Debbie Farthing; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; two brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Joe Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

The family prefers memorials in lieu of flowers to the Salem Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 823, Carrier Mills, Ill. 62917. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
