Mary J. Young

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary J. Young, 89, of Wooster, Ohio, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at the Smithville-Western Care Center after a long illness.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at the McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, Ohio.

A private family service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, April 29, 2010, with the Rev. James Watt officiating. Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Born Dec. 23, 1920, in Walpole, she was the daughter of Harry R. and Clara D. Jones. She married Thomas A. Young on Dec. 9, 1944. They were together until his death in August 2008.

She graduated from Eldorado Township High School and the Gradwohl School of Laboratory Technique in St. Louis, Mo. Her career began as a lab technician in St. Louis, Mo. and she worked in several hospitals eventually leading her to the Medical Arts Clinic in Murphysboro, where she served for 27 years as an office nurse, lab technician, X-ray technician and office manager until her retirement in 1987.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carbondale.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Clare Young of Westmont, N.J.; a son, Thomas A. "Ty" Young II (Cynthia) of Wooster, Ohio; and grandchildren, Ashley of New Albany, Ohio and Andrew of Wooster.
