George A. Mann

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[George A. Mann, 84, of Stonefort, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at his residence.

He was born on Oct. 1, 1925, in Danville to the late Edward Harold and Florence (Maury) Mann. On Oct. 1, 1950, he married Alice L. Smith, and she survives.

George was a member of Rossville Methodist Church; he was a World War II veteran serving in the Marine Corps. He farmed for many years with his brothers as Mann Brothers Farms.

Surviving family members include his wife, Alice Mann of Stonefort; son, David Mann of Tolono; son, Richard (Elizabeth) Mann of Terre Haute, Ind.; daughter, Susan (Manuel) Agusti of Danville; three grandchildren, Jason (Gretchen) Mann, Timothy (Mitzi) Mann and Caleb Mann; and one great-grandchild, Marshall Mann.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Charles and James Mann.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois Blue East Team. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
