Jay Lee Thomas
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Word has been received of the death of Jay Lee Thomas, 41, of Harrisburg, by gunshot wound to the head.
Mr. Thomas was pronounced dead 2:35 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, in Huntsville, Ala., where he had gone in search of work.
There will be no immediate services. The body of Mr. Thomas is being used for harvesting organs so others may live and for medical research, as was his desire. He urged friends to explore organ donation and observance of National Donor Sabbath, Nov. 12-14, 2010.
Mr. Thomas was born Jan. 18, 1969, in Stuttgart, Ark., the son of Roy Lee and Pinkney (Cookie) Thomas.
He is survived by his mother of Harrisburg and three brothers, Alan Gillespie, Frank Gillespie and Christopher Gillespie, all of Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Leroy Gillespie and August Lee Thomas.
He served in the U.S. Army.
