Elaine F. Alexander

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Elaine F. Alexander, 85, of Harrisburg, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

She was born to the late Sam and Bernice (Hodge) Hise in Pope County on Oct. 17, 1924. In 1945, she married Gutherie Alexander, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1999.

Elaine is survived by a son, Tom and wife Chesta Alexander of Carrier Mills; a daughter, Linda Chancey of Ridgway; four grandchildren, Terra and husband Keith Vineyard of Harrisburg, B.J. and wife Angie Brown of Ridgway, B.J. and wife Crystal Maloney of Harrisburg and Brad and wife Lanie Maloney of Dongola; eight great-grandchildren, Colton and Haley Vineyard of Harrisburg, Kiley Brown of Ridgway, Hunter and Chase Maloney of Harrisburg and Cale, Lance and Hannah Maloney of Dongola; a sister, Lorene Gibbons of Houston, Texas; and a brother, Sam Hise of Galatia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a grandson, Alex Pearce on Dec. 5, 1999.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Owens will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
