Fred C. Issler

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Fred C. Issler, 86, Harrisburg, died 11:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 21, 1923, in Williamson County to William Issler and Katie Hanselman. He married Carmen Hill on July 1, 1950, and she survives.

He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He retired from the United Mine Workers of America at the Will Scarlet Mine. He was a member of Gaskins City Baptist Church and attended the Buena Vista Community Church.

In addition to his wife, Carmen, he is survived by two daughters, Debby (Bill) Mattingly of Harrisburg and Pat (Eddie) Fitzgerald of Carrier Mills; three grandchildren, Neil Mattingly, Lori King and Brandon Fitzgerald; and a great-grandchild, Jake King.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leon; and a sister, Viola Cox.

Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. G.E. Coultas officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery with military rites.
