Esta Emery Howerton
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Esta Emery Howerton, 101, a resident of Carrier Mills Nursing Home, formerly of New Burnside, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Wise-Robinson Cemetery near New Burnside. There will be no visitation; all friends should go directly to the cemetery. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Oct. 30, 1909, in Marion to the late William Henry and Edith (Eads) Austin. She married Elmer Emery, who preceded her in death. She later married Roy Howerton, who also preceded her in death.
She was a member of the New Burnside Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Doris Emery of Clearwater, Fla.; a stepson, George Howerton of New Burnside; three grandchildren, Linda Emery Bravo of Clearwater, Fla., Mike Emery of Pocola, Okla., and Larry Emery of Coldwater, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Fred Emery and Rudell Emery; a daughter, Jacqueline Rodman; and several brothers and sisters.
