Matthew Edward Houseright
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Matthew Edward Houseright, 84, of Metropolis, passed away at 5:25 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. The Rev. Louis W. Brinker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Matthew was retired from Allied Signal after 17 years of service. He was a member of the Metropolis First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Helen Louise Houseright of Metropolis; two daughters, Trisha Painter of Ypsilanti, Mich. and Janet Reynolds and husband Kevin of Cobden; one son, Lonnie Houseright and wife Missy of Eldorado; seven grandchildren, Carrie Richardson and husband David of Ypsilanti, Mich., Melanie Yost of Ypsilanti, Mich., Kevin Reynolds II and wife Whitney of Cobden, Leah Reynolds of Carbondale, Heather Houseright and Jason Houseright both of Evansville, Ind. and Nick Houseright of Eldorado; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Beshear of Gilbertsville, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Carrie Watkins Houseright; sister, Frances McClellan; and three brothers, Loren Houseright, Carl Houseright and Frank Houseright.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.
Music will be provided by Karen Wemhoener, pianist and Heather Houseright, soloist.
Pallbearers will be Brendan Yost, Kevin Reynolds II, Jason Houseright, Nick Houseright, Marvin Barnhill and Tim Whalen.
