Mildred A. Barnett

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mildred A. Barnett, 88, of Equality, passed away at noon Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at the Parkway Manor in Marion.

Mildred was born in Union County, Ky. on July 10, 1922, to the late Maude and Cynthia Ethel (Tapp) Day. Mildred married Freeman Barnett on Feb. 8, 1941.

She was a full-time housewife and drove a school bus for 20 years for the Equality School District. Mildred will be most remembered for her selfless devotion to the Lord and to her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Freeman Barnett of Equality; five daughters, Carolyn and Kenny Patton of Equality, Dianne and Paul Vogel of Herod, Pamela and Jorge Rodriguez of Monterey, Mexico, Patricia and Roger Becker of Tyler, Texas and Lisa Barnett Joyner of Kentucky; and one son, Donald Andrew Barnett. Mildred is blessed with 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Bonnie June and Horace King of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by one son, Freeman Eric Barnett; two sisters; and five brothers.

Visitation for Mildred will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at the Equality Christian Center in Equality. The Rev. Marshall Glover and the Rev. Jorge Rodriguez will be officiating with burial at Elmwood Cemetery near Equality. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality is in charge of arrangements.
