Natalie Edna Ross
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Natalie Edna Ross, 85, of Pekin, passed away at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Morton Villa Care Center.
Born June 15, 1925, in Harrisburg to George Russell and Frances Dica (Brown) Vaughn, she married Donald Forrest Ross on Sept. 24, 1984, in Henderson, Ky. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Barbara (Bob) Hoffman of Deer Creek; two sons, Larry (Sandra) Wilhelm of Pekin and Tom (Beverly) Wilhelm of Woodland Park, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bill (Katie) Vaughn of Pontiac, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas Vaughn, during World War II.
She worked for Carson, Pirie, Scott in downtown Peoria from 1962 to 1972 as manager of the children's and ladies' shoe departments. She then worked for Sears in Peoria as a sales clerk in the house wares and paint departments from 1972 to 1979.
She was a member of New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw and the senior group of the church. She also was a member of the former ladies auxiliary of Fleet Reserve in East Peoria. Natalie enjoyed sewing, reading, skating and loving on her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011, at New Castle Bible Church, 17931 Dee-Mack Road, Mackinaw, where visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Pekin.
