Chester 'Chet' F. Lindsey
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Chester "Chet" F. Lindsey, 79, of Harrisburg, passed away at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at his residence in Harrisburg.
Chet was born in Murphysboro on Dec. 5, 1931, to the late Obert and Ada (Futtrel) Lindsey. Chet married Eloise Fuller on Dec. 26, 1947, and she survives in Harrisburg. Chet was the owner and operator of Chet's Boots and Western Wear. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg; he was a Korean Army veteran.
In addition to his wife Eloise, Chet is survived by one son, Steve Lindsey and wife Paula of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, JJ McDaniel and husband Kenny of Harrisburg, and Travis Lindsey of Harrisburg; five great-grandchildren, Taylor McDaniel, Chase McDaniel, Lauren McDaniel, Peyton McDaniel and Caleb Lindsey; sister, Aretta Johnson of Dallas, Texas; sister Rosetta Wanstal of Connecticut; brother, Andy Lindsey of Showlow, Ariz.; and sister, Gloria Feidler of Portland Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Chester "Chet" F. Lindsey will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Chris Winkleman will officiate; burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Reed Funeral Chapel with Masonic rites conducted by the Harrisburg Masonic Lodge No. 325 at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
