Helen Turner

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Helen Turner, 84, a resident of Pope County Care Center, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare.

She was born on June 25, 1926, in Ledford to the late Mike and Martha (Yurelonis) Chase. She married William "Bill" Turner and he preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1996.

Helen owned her own dress shop, and she also sold real estate. She was a Catholic by faith, but accompanied her daughter to Methodist services when she was able.

Surviving family members include her daughter, Cherrie Wilkerson and husband Don of Golconda.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Pat Tompkins.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Julie Allison will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
