Obituary: Monica Stewart

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Monica Stewart, 86, of 608 E. Washington St., Carrier Mills, died 6:15 a.m. Thursday Oct. 20, 2011, at her residence. Private family services are pending.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1925, in Carrier Mills to the late Wiley and Ethel (Tavender) Taborn.

She married Morris Stewart in 1943 and he preceded her in death on February 6, 1989.

She leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Kathleen "Kathy" Stewart Lewin of Downers; two sons, Marshall Stewart of Owensboro, Ky., and Martin Stewart of Carrier Mills; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight sisters and four brothers.
