Obituary: Gladys (Caley) Gibbons Carroll
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Gladys (Caley) Gibbons Carroll, 101, Harrisburg, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Shawnee Rose Care Center, Harrisburg.
Gladys was born on Sept. 29, 1910, in Mackinaw to the late James Edwin and Thamer Iola (Camerling) Caley. She was a captain in the United States Army Nurse Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater. She married Earl Gibbons on July 22, 1955, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1969. She married Raymond Carroll on Jan. 19, 1983, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1998. She was a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church. She had a bachelor's degree in science from Eureka College.
Gladys is survived by a nephew Ross and niece, Gladys Anne Faires; and six grand-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Earl and Raymond; and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Dorrisville Baptist Church in Harrisburg. The Rev. Jerry Ford will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Dorrisville Baptist Church.
