Obituary: Elizabeth R. 'Betty' Wilson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Elizabeth R. "Betty" Wilson, 83, lifelong resident of the Ridgway area, died peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012 surrounded by her family.

Betty as most knew her, was born on the family farm south of Ridgway on May 2, 1928, to the late Phillip and Margaret (Drone) Fromm.

Betty graduated grade school from St. Joseph Catholic School and then graduated high school from Ridgway High. On Aug. 6, 1946 she married Ray Wilson who preceded her in death in 2002.

Betty was a faithful member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar Society and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

She loved music and could play any instrument. She loved to sew, fish and was always a hard worker on the farm with her husband. Her main love was her family as she always was involved with her children and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by four sons, Denny (Brenda) Wilson of Ridgway, John (Linda) Wilson of Omaha, Bob Wilson of Longwood, Fla. and Joe (Melissa) Wilson of Omaha; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Wilson, Brant (Jennifer) Wilson, Keldon and Steven Wilson, Bradley and Brian Wilson, Joey (Amy) Wilson, Misty (Gary) Jester, and Rachael (Andy) Brown; 13 great-grandchildren along with one brother, J.P. (Ruth) Fromm of Ridgway, Philomena Rider of Eldorado, Marie Bungi of Iowa and Catherine Childs of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation for Betty will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway where a prayer service will be said at 5 p.m. Funeral Mass for Betty will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway. Fr. Steven Beatty will celebrate and interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the Golden Circle in Ridgway in her memory, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
