Obituary: Ruby Earline (Wilson) Parker

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ruby Earline (Wilson) Parker died from complications from a car accident at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at the Atrium Care Center, Cahokia.

The funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Braun Family Funeral Home, 221 Quarry Road, Columbia. Family visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. and public visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Val Halla Cemetery, Old Route 13, Belleville.

Earline was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Parker; her parents, Iley and Grace Wilson of Eddyville; three brothers, Eugene Wilson, Orville Wilson and Robert Wilson; and one sister, Frieda Akers.

She is survived by two sisters, Georgia Palmer of Dupo and Barbara (Bill) Jones of Golconda; one brother, Dan (Jean) Wilson of Harrisburg; nieces and nephew, Cheryl (Roger) Angelly of Harrisburg, Lynn Houston of Harrisburg and Richard (Dawanna) of Galatia; and many more nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Earline was an accomplished business woman, owning and managing shoe stores in Wisconsin. After retiring, she moved to Florida and volunteered for United Way for many years, managing the Ocala, Fla. office and directing the Bradenton and Lake City, Fla., United Way offices. After retiring for a second time, Earline, at the age of 77, became a volunteer for S.C.O.R.E. Later, at the age of 84, Earline started her own publishing company. Earline was a self-motivated, successful business woman who made her mother very proud. She will be missed by family and friends.
