William J. 'Bill' Sinks

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[William J. "Bill" Sinks, 83, Eldorado, formerly of Mount Vernon, died 2:53 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Ferrell Hospital, Eldorado.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at Crisel Cemetery in Dahlgren. The chaplain of American Legion Post No. 141 of Mount Vernon will be conducting a flag presentation service with Dale Leneave officiating. Per request of Mr. Sinks, there will be no public visitation.

He was born on Dec. 10, 1928, in Belle Rive to Arthur D. and Ollie (Dollins) Sinks.

He is survived by a special friend and neighbor, Frank Irwin of Eldorado; a daughter, Sandra (Dale) Leneave of Eldorado; two grandchildren, Eddie (Melissa) Leneave of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Julie Leneave of Harrisburg; three stepdaughters, Carol, Kay and Jane; six great-grandchildren, Kristen McGee, Mark Swank and Katalina Leneave, all of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Valencia Mayberry, Caleb Mayberry and Zachary Schell, all of Harrisburg; a brother-in-law, Ted Hansen of Santa Cruz, Calif.; three sisters-in-law, Wanda Sinks of West Frankfort, Virginia Sinks of Englewood, Calif. and Betty Sinks of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

His parents; two sons, Joe and Gale Sinks; three brothers, Arthur, Herman and Harry Sinks; and one sister, Betty Jean Hansen, preceded him in death.

Mr. Sinks was retired water superintendent with the city of Mount Vernon, and he loved fishing. Mr. Sinks also served in the United States Navy from March 1946 to March 1948.
