Obituary: Dorothy Camden Armstrong
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dorothy Camden Armstrong of Hixson, Tenn., 88, died on Monday, April 17, 2012.
Born in Pope County to Loren and Elizabeth Loless Camden, she attended Southern Illinois University, Michigan State and the University of Illinois. She taught at Allen Branch School in Illinois and was a Navy Wave in World War II, where she was a Link Instrument Trainer Instructor at the Atlanta and Grose Ile Navy stations.
She is survived by her husband, Fred C. Armstrong and her four children, Martha Langer, Joyce Armstrong, Chris Armstrong, Cleve Armstrong; and her grandchildren, Marcia Sobocinski, Julia Edwards, Katy Armstrong, Lily Armstrong, Clara Turner and Charles Blevins; as well as two sisters, Alice Landrum and Betty Preston; and brother, Leslie Camden.
A memorial gathering will be held at Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike, from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or Friends of the Library.
