Obituary: Everest M. 'Jim' Thomas
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Everest M. "Jim" Thomas, 84, of Eldorado, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at Fountainview Nursing Home.
Jim was born in Rossville on July 21, 1927, a son of the late Faye (Mayhue) Jones and Everest Thomas.
He attended First United Methodist Church in Eldorado.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Jim owned and operated Thomas Engineering Sales.
Jim was a Mustang enthusiast, restoring over 15 cars and taking first place at several car shows. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed training his dogs.
He was the husband of Georgia (Howery) Thomas, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Beth (Ray) Lane of Harrisburg, Patti (Danny) Collins of Harrisburg, Betty (Eric) Brannock of Eldorado and Rhonda (Chuck) Love of Texas; two sons, Wade (Sheila) Waller, of Marion; Rory (Brigitte) Waller of Montana; several grandchildren, Rhett Lane, Brooke Lane, Brittany Lane, Caitlyn Collins, Ryan Collins, Shea Curry, Erin Owens, Jason Brannock, Drennan Waller, Cole Waller, Tracy Riley, Brandon Waller and Justin Love; and several great-grandchildren, Chayse Curry, Graham Curry, Ally Brannock, Avery Brannock, Colbie Owens, Erin Riley, John Riley, Brandon Riley, Lostin Love and Christian Love.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Ashley and his twin, Evelyn Mitchell.
Funeral service will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012, with Pastor John M. Cross officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
