OBITUARY: Ralph Steapleton
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ralph Steapleton, age 79, of Carrier Mills, passed away at 6:03 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Shawnee Rose Care Center in Harrisburg.
Ralph was born on February 15, 1933, in Harrisburg, to the late Hillis and Francis Elizabeth (Keasler) Steapleton. He married Jo Ann Stanciu on March 29, 1958. Ralph was a Korean War Army Veteran and received a Purple Heart. He was a truck driver for 30 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Evansville, and the Carrier Mills American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the Sommerset Community Church.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Jo Ann of Carrier Mills; daughter, Kathy Morton and husband Artie of Arkansas; son Paul Steapleton and wife Jenny of Harrisburg; son, Mark Steapleton of Newburgh, Ind.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jr. Steapleton of Carrier Mills.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Avanell and Jane, and grandson Zachary.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Mark Smith will officiate and burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Harrisburg and Carrier Mills American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Guard. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel.
