OBITUARY: Maria Gisela Ashe

Maria Gisela Ashe, 85, of Harrisburg, died on Oct. 13, 2012, at the Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado.

She was born on Oct. 6, 1927, in Hofbieber, Germany, to Pius and Lina (Kremer) Pappert, who preceded her in death.

On Dec. 31, 1955, she married Richard Ashe of Harrisburg and they had one daughter, Cynthia, who survives. Also surviving her are two sisters, Lucia Seifert of Gelnhausen, Germany, and Anita Winkler of Wurzburg, Germany, and their families.

In March 1953, she came to the United States as the guest of Paul and Mildred Lavielle. She was employed by them at Pankey's Bakery, and later worked at Boren's IGA in Harrisburg, Walmart in Harrisburg and Louisiana before retiring. Her hobbies included crocheting, embroidery and sewing. She always had a special love for pets.

Her body has been cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bridge Medical Clinic and may be sent to 715 E.
