Alfre Woodard to Play President in NBC Pilot State of Affairs

Move over Barack Obama, there's a new president in town. Alfre Woodard will play the Commander in Chief in NBC's pilot State of Affairs, Deadline

The drama, directed by Joe Carnahan, also stars Katherine Heigl as a key CIA attaché who counsels the president regarding international security.

Heigl will executive-produce with writers Joe Carnahan ( The Blacklist ) and Alexi Hawley ( Castle ). Cliff Chamberlain will also star.

Woodard's recent credits include the Oscar-winning film 12 Years a Slave , Lifetime's Steel Magnolias , True Blood and Copper .
