Electronics recycling offered Saturday

From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday the Village of Carrier Mills hosts an electronics recycling and disposal on the Carrier Mills Municipal Building Parking lot, located at 101 N. Mill St.

No longer can landfills accept electronics. Anything that can be plugged in is required to be recycled. So on Saturday a recycler will be present and will collect anything that can be plugged in and no longer works or is unwanted. Most of the items are free to dispose of. The recycler will take old TV's for $5 each.

TV's, computer monitors and flat screens all cost $5 to be recycled.

Some of the items excepted are refrigerators, printers, copiers, microwaves, irons, washers, dryers, VCR's, DVD players, fax machines and radios.

In addition, the recycler will also accept used motor oil and batteries of all sizes, for free. Old paint can be dropped off as well, for $1 a gallon and tires can be recycled, but the price is based on the size of the tire.
