Obituary: Barbara Ann Jones

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[On Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, Barbara Ann (Brothers) Jones went to be with Jesus at the Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado.

Barbara was born June 30, 1937, to the late Omar and Reba (Meler) Brothers. On March 14, 1959, she married Clarence F. Jones who survives. They had four children, Michael R. (Rena) Jones of Harrisburg, Cynthia Ann Jones, deceased, Jeffery A. Jones of Eldorado and Robyn L. (Jay) Simerly of Carrier Mills.

Barbara was a member of the Star General Baptist Church. She was also a devoted employee of Fountainview Nursing Home for 38 years in which she was still working until a month ago where she was always laughing, smiling and caring for others.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always at all school functions and in sports activities where her children and grandchildren were involved. Her passion was caring for her family and cooking. Even with her illness, she tried to do these things.

She is survived by her husband, three children and grandchildren, Brittany (Michael) Tucker, Patrick McDowell, Garrett Jones, Timothy Jones, Caitlin Jones, Lauryn and Jake Simerly. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Lane Baker, Jaden Tucker and Nathan McDowell; and one niece, two nephews, one uncle and many cousins.

Preceding her in death were a sister, three aunts and one uncle.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at the Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at the funeral home.

There will be a potluck dinner at Watson Funeral Home Hospitality Room at noon after graveside service. All friends and relatives are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Fountainview Nursing Home Activity Fund and left at the funeral home.
