</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Betty B. Sturam, 88, Mount Vernon, died 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital, Mount Vernon.
A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mount Vernon with Father John Iffert officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mount Vernon. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
She was born on Monday, Nov. 14, 1921, in Mount Vernon to the late Seburn R. Sr. and Dolly E. (McCarty) Arnold. On June 29, 1941, she married Louie Sturam in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2002.
Betty was a charter member of Chapter 1624 (W.O.T.M.) Women of the Moose; a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 141, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mount Vernon.
She is survived by two nephews, Paul Molinarolo and wife Janet of Harrisburg and Tom Arnold and wife Joyce of Mount Vernon; four nieces, Carolyn Sue Eubanks and husband Robert of Mount Vernon, Vickie Arnold Neunlist of Thompsonville, Paula Sue Sturam of Evansville, Ind. and Nita Schmitt of Crete; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her parents; her husband; and one brother, Seburn R. Arnold Jr., preceded her in death.
